10?Feet Python Killed

RESIDENTS AT Labadi Villas, a suburb of La, in Accra, were stunned with disbelief and panic when they realised that they have unknowingly been sharing the neighbourhood with a ten-foot python.

The python was killed in the early hours of Thursday, around 5am, when it attempted to swallow a dog, it had killed.

A resident of Labadi Villas, Mr Tetteh Botwe, who killed the python related that, he was on his way to his garden that morning, when he stumbled upon the dog lying in pool of blood before the reptile.

According to him, he became alarmed and quickly pulled out his machete, and after a few minutes of struggle, he overpowered the python and cut off its head.

A resident, Mr Kodia, recounted the killing of another python, a few days earlier in the same area. This one, said to be about 18 feet long, succeeded in killing seven (7) cattle belonging to a certain Alhaji Mamoud, before it was eventually killed.

Labadi Villas residents have, therefore, appealed to the Ghana Wildlife Society to help clear the environment of such dangerous reptiles for their safety.
