Insurance is ultimately about people
Speaking at the presentation, Ing. Solomon Twum Barima (Esq), Managing Director of SIC Life, said the settlement of the claim demonstrated the company’s commitment to delivering on its promises to policyholders and their beneficiaries.
He explained that while no financial payment could replace the loss of a loved one, SIC Life’s responsibility was to ensure that families did not have to face the additional burden of financial uncertainty at an already difficult time.
According to him, claims settlement is one of the most important moments in the insurance journey because it is when the promise made to a customer becomes tangible support. He said SIC Life would continue to prioritise efficient claims processing, responsiveness and excellent customer service while working closely with corporate clients to ensure that their employees and families receive the protection they deserve.
“For us at SIC Life, life insurance is ultimately about people. It is about being there when life takes an unexpected turn and ensuring that the promise of protection translates into real support for families,” Ing. Twum Barima said.
He further emphasised the importance of strong partnerships between insurers and institutions such as the NPA to ensure that employee welfare remains protected.
NPA Commends SIC Life
The Chief Executive Officer of the NPA, Godwin Kudzo Tameklo Esq., commended SIC Life for its responsiveness, particularly in matters concerning the welfare of staff and their families. He noted that employee welfare initiatives resonate strongly with staff, fostering widespread interest and ensuring that information about such interventions is quickly shared across the organisation.
Tameklo therefore expressed appreciation to SIC Life for its responsiveness and efforts to ensure that legitimate claims are settled and paid to beneficiaries of employees covered under the Group Life Insurance policy.
His comments underscored the importance of a reliable insurance partner that can respond effectively when employees and their families need support.
More Than a Claim Payment
The settlement of the claim represents more than the fulfilment of an insurance obligation. It demonstrates the practical value of Group Life Insurance as a financial safety net for employees and their dependants, providing much-needed support to beneficiaries at a time when they may be dealing with both emotional and financial challenges.
For employers, Group Life Insurance is an important component of employee welfare, assuring them that their loved ones will have financial protection should the unexpected occur.
For SIC Life, the claim settlement reinforces a fundamental principle at the heart of its business: insurance is not simply about policies and premiums—it is about people, protection and keeping promises.
Through its Group Life Insurance solutions, SIC Life continues to partner with organisations across Ghana to provide meaningful financial protection for employees and their loved ones.
The company remains committed to strengthening the claims experience through speed, responsiveness, efficiency and compassion, ensuring that beneficiaries receive the support to which they are entitled when it matters most.
The NPA engagement further demonstrates the value of a strong insurer-client partnership in protecting employees and securing the financial wellbeing of their families.
Because when life happens, protection should be more than a promise. It should be delivered.
