The attention of the management of Vodafone Ghana Mobile Financial Services Limited (Vodafone Cash) has been drawn to multiple media publications on the above subject.

Following an investigation, we have established that the transaction complained of was completed on the customer's authorization. On receiving a PIN prompt from a merchant, the customer entered her PIN, authorizing payment to the merchant.

The customer has been engaged by officials of Vodafone Cash, provided with the key findings, and advised that an official complaint be made to the Ghana Police Service.

We reiterate that all transactions from customers’ wallets require customer authorization. Consequently, we advise all customers to exercise caution prior to authorizing any transaction.

Vodafone Cash continues its relentless effort to educate customers on safe PIN usage. It is committed to collaborating with all stakeholders in the industry to increase awareness and further strengthen the security of mobile transactions in Ghana.
