After a rigorous nomination and selection process, voting is now open for the 5th EMY Africa Awards, West Africa’s top honours for distinguished gentlemen.

Since 2016, on or around every father’s day, EMY Africa has celebrated the best in men’s achievements across local industry, community, culture and public service. Dozens of personalities from all ages and walks of life have been honoured for their abilities, initiatives and contributions to society.

Past recipients include former President John Agyekum Kufuor, Sir Sam Jonah, Professor Joseph H.K. Nketia, Sheikh Dr. Osmanu Nuhu Sharubutu, Azumah Nelson, Togbe Afede XIV, Dr Ernest Ofori Sarpong, Dr Kwabena Duffuor, Dr Osei Kwame Despite and Adebola Williams, to name a few.

This year’s award ceremony will be telecast on Joy Prime on the 4th of July 2020. The organisers, Carbon AV, and production partners, Rhythms Africa, have taken this position due to the present danger of the COVID-19 pandemic.

In a move that shows innovativeness, the award show will be recorded in compliance with the government of Ghana and the World Health Organisation’s safety protocols and broadcast on TV, YouTube and Facebook (via @emyafrica).

More than 1000 entries were submitted this year by nominators for consideration in more than 20 categories, including Man of the Year, Woman of the Year, Man of Courage, Young Achiever and Discovery of the Year.

Visit www.emyafrica.com/voting or @emyafrica on instagram and other social media platforms to find out and vote for your favourite nominees in the competitive categories. Voting ends on Monday, 22nd of June 2020.

The rest of the honourees for the other categories will be announced on the day of the broadcast.

The 5th EMY Africa Awards is in partnership with the Multi Media Group and the Diaspora Affairs Office, Office of the President of Ghana, and is sponsored and supported by JPML Mine Support Services, Prudential Life Insurance, Glenfiddich Whisky, Samsung, A Rocha Ghana, Special Ice, DVO Ghana, mPedigree and EY Ghana.
