NDC youth chase contractor from site in Evalue Gwira

Our attention has been drawn to an attack on the contractor scheduled to commence work on the Gwira Ayinanse roads by some NDC party executives in the area. The Evalue Ajomoro Gwira(EAG) NDC led by the mischievous Kofi Arko Nokoe Theophilus (KAN'T) the Parliamentary Candidate is riding on the deadly Coronavirus (COVID-19) to instigate the people of Gwira Aiyinase to fight against developmental projects in the Gwira enclave.

Kofi Arko and his NDC executives after picking information that the contractor for the Gwira Aiyinasi to Gwira Wiawso road will resume work on the 30th of March 2020, quickly communicated to Gwira Aiyinasi NDC branch executives to sack any foreigner found in the community on the excuse that the person is a carrier of the Coronavirus.

It was upon this mischievous plan from Evalue Ajomoro Gwira NDC that an innocent Contractor for the Gwira Aiyinase - Wiawso road was attacked, humiliated and sacked from Gwira Aiyinase community at 12 midnight Monday 30th March, 2020, by the NDC irate youth in the town.

According to eye witness, the contractor arrived in the town in the evening of 29th day of March 2020 and one Mr. Buah a.k.a Ka N?hal?, a popular NDC guy in the town took to his local FM and announced that a man with coronavirus had come to hide in the town and therefore must be sacked.

What is more intriguing is that, the said contractor was not visiting the town for the first time. He has rented a house in the town and has stayed there for sometime before leaving for Accra.

We wish to state clearly, that this agenda from the NDC parliamentary candidate and his executives is inhumane and a disincentive to the development of the good people of Gwira and EAG.

The Gwira Aiyinase road has been a major albatross to the people of Gwira and various Members of Parliament have each taken turns to fix them but to no avail.

Whiles the current Member of Parliament for the constituency, Hon. Catherine Abelema Afeku is determined and poised to break that cycle and has successfully lobbied for the road to be constructed this year, the NDC is doing everything possible to prevent the construction of the road.

We also wish to state that, this is not the first time Evalue Ajomoro Gwira NDC is carrying out such evil agenda. After coming to the conclusion that their chances of winning Election 2020 is slim, they have decided to sabotage all developmental projects that are being carried out by the hard-working MP, Hon. Catherine Abelema Afeku and MCE Hon. Frank Okpyenyen.

A similar agenda was carried out on the 16th of March 2020 where NDC executives of Evalue Ajomoro Gwira visited one family head who released land for the construction of DVLA. They advised the prominent man to stop giving land to Hon. Catherine and Hon. Frank Okpyenyen for any developmental work in the constituency since such actions will make their effort to win election 2020 be in vain.

The NDC PC and his family members took the MP and the MCE to court over the land that was initially earmarked for the construction of the DVLA project.

To set the records straight, Africa has been hit with the deadly coronavirus for the past few weeks with Ghana recording some of the cases. The Corona Virus, also known as COVID-19 is an infectious disease caused by the most recently discovered coronavirus. This new virus and disease were unknown before the outbreak began in Wuhan, China, in December 2019.

On the 12th of March, Ghana recorded its first two cases followed by a number of subsequent cases making 152 currently. On the 12th of March, Ghana recorded its first two cases followed by a number of subsequent cases making 152 currently.

These cases were mostly recorded in the Greater Accra Region and the Greater Kumasi region of Ghana. The President of the Republic, H.E Nana Addo Dankwa Akuffo Addo after careful consideration of the turn of events called for a lockdown in these parts of Ghana.

In his speech which has received international acclaim, he indicated that individuals and institutions providing the following services shall be exempted from the restrictions:

-Members of the Executive, Legislature and the Judiciary;

-Production, distribution and marketing of food, beverages, pharmaceuticals, medicine, paper and plastic packages.

-Environmental and sanitation activities;

-VALCO staff

-Road and Railway

construction workers;

-Mining workers;

-Fisherfolk;

-Members of the security agencies assigned lawful duties;

-The staff of electricity, water, telecommunications, e-commerce and digital service providers; and

-Fuel stations staff.

This means that the contractor whose roles fall under that of a construction worker is fit to perform his job dutifully in these trying times.

The MCE of the municipality also issued a communique and advised all chiefs and assembly members to allow all visitors to be screened at a nearby health facility or call the municipal task force for any issue concerning visitors.

It is therefore strange for the NDC youth in the town to take the law into their own hands and declare someone a Carrier of the deadly virus.

We call on the security agencies in the Municipality to take up this matter and ensure that are culprits are brought to book. We also call on the good people of Gwira to embrace the various developmental changes they have been craving for.
