Kumasi Zongo Youth condemn Attorney General

PRESS RELEASE BY CONCERNED ZONGO YOUTHS IN KUMASI TO CONDEMN THE ATTORNEY GENERAL, MARIETTA BREW APPIAH-OPPONG FOR HER CRUEL AND UNLAWFUL ACTIONS AGAINST MR. ALFRED AGBESI WOYOME
IN KUMASI ON MONDAY, 13TH JUNE, 2016

We are a group of Muslims in Kumasi, made up mostly of the youth who are ardent supporters of Mr. Alfred Agbesi Woyome, and the National Democratic Congress (NDC).

We love and greatly support Mr. Woyome because of his love, honesty and care for the under-privileged in society, especially for his great love and support to the Muslim community all over the country for the past years.

We are joining voice in condemnation of the activities of the Attorney General, especially in her recent attempts to have Mr. Woyome’s properties sold.

We are sad that the AG continuously want to criminalize and punish Mr. Woyome even though all her actions in that regard in the courts have failed even with the outcome of her appeal against his acquittal by the criminal court.

The courts of the land have cleared Mr. Woyome of all criminal charges, and her strange actions in hiding behind the Supreme Court ruling to be doing what she is doing exposes her as someone whose motive is to destroy Mr. Woyome, his businesses and properties for reasons we will not tell now but later.

We are appealing to the AG to stop taking things personally with Mr. Woyome. The case of Mr. Alfred Agbesi Woyome is not the only case that has come to her table since her appointment to that noble office.

We are very disappointed in the posture of the NDC since this issue broke out and the court processes more than four years ago, and we are appealing to the party and government to stop criminalizing their own people, and giving the party a very bad image.

The 2016 general elections is just in the corner, and awkward activities such as that of Mrs. Marietta Brew Appiah-Oppong may cost the NDC to lose votes, especially from the numerous supporters of Mr. Woyome at the grassroots. All we are asking is that the rule of law and respect for the rights of all Ghanaians must be respected EQUALLY.

Mr. Alfred Agbesi Woyome, we believe in your innocence. Allah will grant you all the strength you need for total victory over your detractors.
God Bless Ghana!
God Bless Honourable Alfred Agbesi Woyome!
God Bless NDC!
