Jubilare Group, in partnership with Ghana's Mental Health Authority and 18 leading organizations, today launched a comprehensive Mental Health Campaign 2026, unveiling plans for Ghana's first 24/7 remote mental health care platform and committing to directly support over 1,000 mothers, students, and professionals through screening, counseling, and support services.
In a deeply personal address, Deborah Asmah, co-founder and Chief Marketing & Operations Officer of Npontu Technologies and President of Jubilare Group, revealed her own struggle with postnatal depression across three pregnancies.
"I learned the name for what I was experiencing not from my hospital or doctor. I learned it from Google. In the dark hours. Alone," Deborah shared.
Her story echoes a national crisis: research shows 50% of Ghanaian mothers experience perinatal depression, with 13-17% reporting suicidal thoughts.
One in five new mothers battles postnatal depression, while one in three university students struggles with anxiety or depression.
"Mental health is like malaria - it can affect anyone. We don't shame people for getting malaria treatment. Mental health deserves the same dignity," Deborah emphasized.
24/7 Digital Platform Developed with the Mental Health Authority, the digital platform will provide 24/7 remote access to licensed therapists, psychiatrists, and counselors. "A mother battling depression at 2 AM shouldn't wait until morning. A student at midnight needs help now," Asmah explained.
The platform is expected to launch in Q3/Q4 2026 and aims to improve access to mental health support while addressing stigma and privacy concerns.
Dr. Eugene Dordoye, CEO of the Mental Health Authority of Ghana, emphasized the importance of collaborative action: "We envision a Ghana where innovation and partnership become bridges between suffering and support; where care is not imprisoned by geography; where help is not determined by proximity; and where mental healthcare becomes more responsive, more accessible, and more humane. In the Ghana we are striving to build, no citizen's mental health outcome should depend on where they live, what hour they suffer, or whether help happens to be nearby."
Comprehensive May-December 2026 Campaign Maternal Mental Health: hundreds of mothers through Lister Hospital, 37 Military Hospital, UG Medical Center, Legon Hospital, and Korle-Bu - screening, support groups, professional counseling
Student Mental Health: hundreds of students at Accra Technical University and University of Cape Coast - campus talks, 20 peer champions per campus, counseling connections
The campaign also supports awareness and implementation of Ghana’s Maternal Mental Health Policy launched on March 31, 2026. "A policy without awareness is just paper. This campaign provides awareness, activation, and accountability," Deborah stated.

Partner Organizations Organizations supporting the campaign include: Mental Health Authority of Ghana, Mental Health Society of Ghana, Lister Hospital, 37 Military Hospital, University of Ghana Medical Center, Legon Hospital, Pantang Hospital, Accra Psychiatric Hospital, Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital, GBfoods, MTN Ghana, Fincra and Hopeful Nkomo.
"This is our fight. Not theirs. Ours," Deborah declared. "“ Breaking stigma starts with each of us. The silence ends here!
