In an effort to continue empowering young women and girls, Good Governance Africa (GGA) and its partners are gearing up for the second annual hybrid dialogue, scheduled for October 11, 2023, on the International Day of the Girl Child.

Building on the success of last year's event, this year's dialogue being held at Alisa Hotel, Accra, aims to explore career opportunities available in the traditionally male-dominated fields of mining, ICT, and wildlife, while maintaining its core focus on health and education.

This crucial dialogue, sponsored by prominent organizations, seeks to inform and inspire young women aged 13 to 25 from underprivileged areas in Gauteng, South Africa. The event will feature representatives from the mining, ICT, and wildlife sectors, who will engage with the young participants, shedding light on the array of career options available to them.

The event will also include exhibitions and demonstrations by various organizations, offering access to essential services such as health, counseling, career guidance, and ICT programs like coding.

The dialogue aims to provide participants with valuable information, encourage them to share their own experiences, foster relationships, and continue to explore opportunities for personal advancement and empowerment. Follow-up engagements on specific issues arising from the dialogue are anticipated, as the overarching goal is to create enduring bonds of solidarity and sisterhood among girls and young women.

Looking ahead to the future, GGA intends to expand its reach by hosting local hybrid dialogues in Ghana and Ethiopia, thanks to corporate support garnered during last year's successful event. These initiatives are part of a broader effort to promote the well-being and career opportunities of young women and girls.
