The 6th Ghana-France Higher Education and Research Conference 2024 was held in Accra from Monday, February 5 to Wednesday, February 7, and then in Kumasi on Thursday, February 8.

This major event was organized by Campus France, the French higher education institution that helps and assists students or people wishing to study in France, and by the French Embassy in Ghana.

To this end, a French delegation of 12 higher education establishments, including business schools, engineering schools, and public universities, came, accompanied by some staff from Campus France Paris. The French Ambassador to Ghana, His Excellency Jules-Armand Aniamboussou, was also present throughout the event.

Thursday, February 8 was the last day of the Rencontres Universitaires Ghana-France week. The delegation of French higher education establishments, comprising universities, engineering schools, and business schools, was accompanied by the French Ambassador, Jules-Armand Aniamboussou, and the Head of Cooperation at the French Embassy, Julien LECAS.

In the morning, institutional meetings were scheduled. The event was held at KNUST, Amonoo Neizer Conference Room. The aim was to promote mutual understanding between French and Ghanaian higher education establishments and create exchanges between them to discuss cooperation opportunities for student and faculty exchange programs, as well as the development of joint research projects. Next, a Campus France representative explained the French higher education system to Ghanaian schools.

Then, the French and Ghanaian schools took part in speed meetings to talk about their programs and how they could work together. These consisted of 15-minute meetings between two schools (one Ghanaian and one French), with a change of contact person every 15 minutes.

In the afternoon, French schools headed to Great Hall, KNUST to launch the student fair from 1.30 pm to 5.10 pm. This student fair aimed to introduce Ghanaians to the opportunities for higher education in France, and all the advantages that come with it. It was also an opportunity for participants to meet directly with French schools and make contacts.

The French schools: Sciences Po Paris, Université Catholique de l'Ouest, Centrale Supelec, CESI écoles d'ingénieurs, EM Normandie, EM Strasbourg, IESEG SCHOOL OF MANAGEMENT, Eklore-ed School of Management, ISTEC Business School, IMT ATLANTIQUE, Centrale Supélec, IMT Mines-Télécom Business School set up stands to welcome all visitors to the fair.
