Former TESCON activist roots for Mr Ayisi Boateng

Kumasi, Oct 23, GNA - A former organizer of the College of Technology (Kumasi Campus) of the University of Education Winneba branch of the Tertiary Students Confederacy (TESCON) of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) has appealed to delegates who would attend the conference of the Ashanti Regional NPP to elect Mr George Ayisi-Boateng as the regional chairman.

Mr Felix Djan-Foh appealed to the delegates not to be influenced by monetary or any other considerations to vote against their conscience and choice.

In a statement on the impending elections, he said all the candidates, Mr Yaw Amankwaa, Mr Frederick Fredua Anto, the incumbent chairman, and Mr Ayisi-Boateng, all qualified to work for the party's good.

Mr Djan-Foh said, however, that amongst them Mr Ayisi-Boateng stood tall since the choice now was for the person who could work better. He said even without holding any official position, Mr Ayisi-Boateng had demonstrated through his actions and deeds that he deserved to be elected as the Ashanti Regional Chairman of the party. Mr Djan-Foh said Mr Ayisi-Boateng is loved and accepted politically by most members of the party and believed that he had the qualities needed at the present time as the regional chairman to raise the image and status of the party to become more marketable and acceptable than it is presently in the region.
