Sefwi Wiawso Dce Axed!

The District Chief Executive (DCE) of Sefwi Wiawso, Mr. Kofi Ahenkorah has finally been axed by the President as a result of the stories carried by this paper on the mal-administration within his jurisdiction.

Kofi Ahenkorah who had a running battle with this paper has been replaced with one Appiah Kubi Baidoo by the President .

Before he was axed, The Crusading GUIDE was asked to submit ?the stories written on him to the powers that be?.

At an interview to select the DCEs in the Castle, most of the issues some of which bordered on corruption and mal-administration were tabled before DCE Kofi Ahenkorah to react to.

Our sources at the Castle say that his inability to provide accurate answers to questions asked him, led to his dismissal. Some members of the Castle whose name came up in The Crusading GUIDE investigation are said to have been given the opportunity to state their case and they all reportedly corroborated the earlier Crusading GUIDE stories.

The Crusading GUIDE in its17th ? 23rd February 2005 edition under the headline: ??CASTLE? EXPOSES SEFWI WIAWSO DCE! ?.He Sold State Nissan Patrol Without Castle?s Approval But Lied To ?The Crusading GUIDE? That ?Castle? Sold The Vehicle? brought to light how Kofi Ahenkorah sold a state property without using the right procedure.

He sold a Nissan Patrol with Registration Number GV. 4066C at the cost of ?10 million in the name of the Castle, arguing that the Castle had authorized him to do so. Mr. Atiemo, the Chief Director at the Castle and Mr. Kpakpo Allotey, the man in-charge of the valuation of State vehicles at the Castle in an interview, told The Crusading GUIDE that Kofi Ahenkorah did not receive any authorization from their outfit before selling the vehicle.

This paper also carried other stories on the DCE?s mode of administration where he was fingered for ignoring or by-passing the Procurement Committee in the purchasing of items and commodities needed by the Assembly. Mr. Armah, the Procurement Committee Chairman confirmed to The Crusading GUIDE that he(Armah) was, never given the opportunity to operate as the Procurement Committee Chairman by the DCE.

Kofi Ahenkorah in one radio interview, intimated that the Procurement Committee Chairman who had not attended procurement committee meetings for over two years, was sick. Mr. Armah however denied that he was sick. Stay tuned
