An aspiring parliamentary candidate of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), Alhaji Abdul Hanan Gundadow has resolved to retain the Tamale Central seat and also disgrace President Nana Ado Dankwa Akufo-Addo in 2020.

He is optimistic of sailing through as the party’s candidate for the polls and believes his gains will embarrass current president during the 2020 polls because he will never have the opportunity to be Commander-In-Chief of the Ghana Armed Forces.

Speaking to MyNewsGh.com after the vetting last Friday he unveiled his vision for the constituency underscoring the need for the area to consolidate the gains of the party in 2020.

“My mission is to retain the seat for the NDC and help John Mahama embarrass Nana Akufo-Addo who will be denied the opportunity for a second term. Our return to power will usher in a wave of prosperity in the constituency through skills training for the youth and economic empowerment for women. This will enable Tamale continue to enjoy its position as the ultimate destination for peoples of the north”, he revealed.

On what the NDC intends doing if successful in the 2020 polls, he said “ the NDC must also pursue infrastructure development through the provision of roads and other facilities necessary for the creation of jobs and to support the economic development of the area. It would also be my desire to help NDC Government leverage ICT as a tool for skills provision and employment creation”.

Three persons including former Deputy Minister of Trade and Industry, Ibrahim Mohammed Murtala and one other who contested the incumbent Alhaji Inusah Fuseini at the party’s parliamentary in 2015 but lost have been successful after the vetting.
