'A wounded and discredited opponent determined to stay in power'- Armah Buah jabs NPP

Emmanuel Armah Kofi-Buah, Member of Parliament (MP) for Ellembelle Constituency in the Western Region has described the NPP administration as a wounded and discredited opponent determined to stay in power.

According to the MP, nothing seems to work in the Akufo-Addo-led administration upon several promises made to the people of Ghana prior to assumption of office in 2017.

Instead of the NPP government bringing development projects to Ghanaians, he said they were rather engaged in activities overstretching Ghanaians, therefore compounding hardship in the country.

Speaking on issues in his own Constituency (Ellembelle), he said the NPP leadership there were rather engaged in petty squabbles at the expense of development.

He said the result of the in-house fighting in the NPP in Ellembelle for instance has caused the Constituency to lose important projects earmarked for the area. These he said include, DVLA offices, a stadium among other vital projects that have been redirected to other Constituencies.

Addressing enthusiastic party supporters after submitting his nomination forms at the NDC constituency office at Aiyinasi over the weekend, the former Minister for Petroleum said he will leave no stone unturned in overturning the retrogression encountered by the people of Ellembelle following the assumption of power by the NPP administration.

"I am running again because the light we lit in Nzema has been turned off by this incompetent NPP government. Instead of bringing development, they are engaged in internal party squabbles", he jabbed.

For him, aside fighting over needless things, President Akufo-Addo, who is the arrowhead of government rather appears to have spent almost three years of his administration commissioning NDC projects.

"I have heard he is coming to commission the Ghana Gas Offices", he lampooned President Akufo Addo.

The former Minister assured his Constituents and party faithfuls of victory in 2020 following his own assessment of the performance of the current administration.

He said "Let me assure the chiefs and people of our communities who continue to cry for development projects that help is on the way. So to all those who are equally lobbying subtly to have projects carried out in their communities, this is the time to join the train as we work together to uplift the image of Ellembelle locally, nationally, and internationally".

In the current circumstance that the NDC has found itself in opposition, he said he was aware of the daunting task ahead of the party in confronting challenges facing constituents, party supporters and the Ghanaian electorates, and therefore will work towards addressing them.

"Friends, I am under no illusion that this journey will be easy. We face a very wounded and discredited opponent determined to stay in power. We can only defeat the NPP if we come together under the umbrella and work hard", he emphasized.

For the NDC, he said records of the Mills-Mahama administrations were good enough to propel the party to victory except members must close their ranks to pursue the common interest ahead of them "We must forgive each other as we enter this battle and focus on the fight ahead".

The Lawmaker was scored highest among his colleagues in a recent survey conducted by the University of Ghana on performance of MP's.
