Nkoranza Youth thankful to President

Nkoranza (B/A), Feb. 25, GNA - Members of the Nkoranza District Branch of the Federation Youth Association of Ghana have congratulated President John Agyekum Kufuor for nominating the Member of Parliament for Nkoranza South, Mr. Kwame Amporfo-Twumasi as the Deputy Minister of Youth and Sports.

Mr. Patrick Nkansah, Chairman of the Association told the Ghana News Agency at Nkoranza that the nomination of Mr. Amporfo-Twumasi was "a great honour" to the District as it was the first time that a citizen of the area had been appointed as Minister.

He expressed appreciation for the President's recognition of the people's support for the NPP, which won both constituency seats in the area in the last election.

The Youth Chairman expressed the hope that Parliament would also approve of Mr. Amporfo-Twumasi's nomination so that he could use his rich experience and knowledge as a former District Chief Executive to serve the Ministry effectively.

Mr. Nkansah called on the nominee to work assiduously to maintain the trust and confidence reposed in him by the Government. He called on members of the Association to unite and support the development of their communities.
