Jomoro NDC Parliamentary hopeful donates to 25 Muslim communities

The Parliamentary hopeful of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Jomoro Constituency of the Western Region, Dorcas Afo Toffey has donated items to all the 25 Muslim Communities in the area to be used during the Ramadan period.

The items she donated include; 50 bags of sugar and 533 kettles (buta).

The Muslim Communities include the following; Half Assini, Jaway Wharf, Adusuazo, Nuba, Mpataba, Kabenlasuazo, Bonyere, Samenye, Tikobo No.1, New Ankasa, Elubo among others.

She personally toured these Communities and did the presentation.

Muslims across the globe have started their mandatory 30-day fasting and prayers Monday, May 6, 2019.

Ramadan, which is the holy month for the Islamic community began today, Monday in most countries.

Muslims will in the next 30 days abstain from eating, drinking, smoking and sexual relations from dawn to sunset, in the hope that it will lead to greater consciousness of Allah.

Presenting some of the items to the Half Assini Muslim Community over the weekend, the NDC Parliamentary hopeful urged them to pray for unity, love and development of the Municipality.

She asked Allah to guide them against any challenges that they will encounter during the period.

She said "Ramadam is a period our Muslim brothers and sisters use to seek Allah's forgiveness, purification and sanctification and we ask for Allah's blessings and guidance to enable our Muslim brothers and sisters endure the challenges associated with the period of fasting".

She, therefore, charged the Muslims not to pray for any selfish cause but pray for for the peace and stability and also spiritual development of mankind.

The NDC hopeful appealed to the Muslim Communities to remain resolute and pray hard for the NDC to return to power in 2020 and develop their areas.

Dorcas Toffey who is a Philanthropist and who donated a brand new ambulance to the Government Hospital late last year, therefore siezed the opportunity to pledge to donate more during the climax the fasting.

She wished the Muslims happy Ramadan and called on Allah to protect them.
