Greater Accra Regional Chairman of the opposition National Democratic Congress [NDC], Joseph Ade Coker says frequent discussions of his National Chairman’s leaked tape is not beneficial to the state.

“There are serious issues facing this country that we have to discuss. Why should we keep discussing a leaked tape which has been doctored for political purposes and to divert attentions?” he questioned.

NDC’s National Chairman, Samuel Ofosu-Ampofo has been in the news for the wrong reason – he was heard on a leaked audio recording that allegedly had him speaking about several issues, including attacks on the Chairperson of the Electoral Commission, Jean Mensa and the Chairman of the Peace Council, Most Rev. Prof. Emmanuel Asante.

The NDC led by flagbearer John Dramani Mahama has argued that ‘yes’ the voice on the tape is that of their National Chairman.

Speaking on the issue on NEAT FM’s morning show ‘Ghana Montie’ Monday, March 04, 2019, Ade Coker opined that – discussions on the leaked tape must cease to concentrate more on national issues.

“Let’s forget about Ofosu-Ampofo’s tape and discussing national issues for the betterment of this country. The dollar issues, galamsey among others are issues we have to discuss. Ofosu-Ampofo’s tape won’t bring money to anyone’s pocket,” he said.
