NPP dwarfs NDC in Ayawaso West Wuogon

The main two political parties, New Partriotic Party (NPP) and National Democratic Congress (NDC) clashed over the weekend for Health Walks ahead of the January 31st by-election in the Ayawaso West Wuogon Constituency.

The Health Walks were organized as part of their measures to test and energize their support base in the Constituency.

But while the NPP's Agyarko Memorial Health Walk in the Ayawaso West Wuogon Constituency saw a massive turn-out in attendance by the Vice President, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia , the National Organizer of the ruling NPP, Sammy Awuku and the National Youth Organiser, Henry Nana Boakye led the walk across the constituency, it is reported that of the NDC was marked with poor organization and attendance.

Through observations of both political parties in terms of the health walk, the turn-out for the Health Walk however makes it seems the NDC has already thrown in the towel ahead of the January 31st by-election as tongues are already wagging on that; perhaps it is the strategy of the opposition NDC to make it appear so.

The EC on Thursday, January 10, opened nominations for the aspirants in the Constituency and ended on Saturday, January 12, 2019.

The EC had so far given the nod to four MP Aspirants to contest the by-election in the constituency on January 31, 2019.

Mr Delali Kwasi Brempong is representing the National Democratic Congress; Madam Lydia Alhassan, representing the New Patriotic Party; Mr William Dowokpor, for the Peoples Progressive Party; and Mr Clement Boadi, representing the Liberal Party of Ghana.
