NDC Zones Accra

The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has divided the Greater Accra Region into three zones to enable the party carry out effective outreach programmes to reclaim the seats it lost to the New Patriotic Party (NPP).

The party has therefore set a target of winning 20 or 22 seats in the December polls to atone for the poor performance in 2000. The party currently has six sitting MPs in the region. Speaking in an interview in Accra, Alhaji Ishmael Bawa, Greater Accra regional vice chairman of the party said the NDC lost 10 seats to the NPP because majority of Ghanaians including some NDC supporters wanted a change.

He said now that many Ghanaians have realized that the chance was not for the better but for the worst they have started changing their minds not to repeat the mistake they made by calling for a change of the NPP.
