I’ll promote stability to recapture power - Ade Coker

The Greater Accra Regional Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Mr Joseph Ade Coker, has promised to promote stability in the region when retain in power.
According to him, stability in the region will promote unity and would ensure the party recaptures power come 2020.

Speaking to the TelegraphGhana.com in Accra, Mr Ade Coker mentioned that with his experience as the regional chairman, fulfilling the desires of the electorates in the region would not be a difficult task.

“As regional chairman, I have listen to the call from our supporters who have asked me to contribute to bringing the NDC back from opposition to government, because they feel that having being in that position for the past eight years I have got the requisite experience that one needs in this job’

‘Also together with our foot soldiers and our members, all of us we work together, correct the mistakes we made in the 2016 election to ensure that we are a united party so that we can win the 2020 election,” he added.

Mr Ade Coker who is seeking re-election said 2020 election is not going to be easy so the party needs experience and dedicated leaders to wrestle power from the ‘super incompetent’ New Patriotic Party (NPP) government.
He stated that the party lost majority seats in the region due to the lack of harmony among parliamentary candidates and executive members.

He appealed to NDC delegates across the region, to focus on the fortunes of the party and select the right people for the available positions, and not listen to the negative propaganda which is being deliberately spewed out to tarnish the image of all old regional executives.

Ade Coker promised a healthier interaction between the party and the media to promote development.

Mr Ade Coker opined that the NPP came into power through deceitful campaign promises which the government is struggling to fulfil.

He said the NPP was “no competition” for the NDC and that the government was “only making noise” in the country because the electorates have realised their mistakes of electing Nana Akufo Addo’s government.

Meanwhile, Mr Ade Coker has downplayed claims he is no longer interested in the position. The NDC is expected to hold regional congress on August 24 this year to elect new officers before a national congress is conducted.
