Joyce Tetteh advices students to take education serious

Ms Joyce Tetteh, Member of Parliament for North Dayi has advised students in basic schools to eschew laziness and take their education very serious.

She also advised them to shun bad friends who try to influence their life negatively.

Ms Tetteh gave the advice when students of St Joseph R.C Basic Schools in Anfoega – Agatanyigbe, in the North Dayi constituency, visited Parliament to acquaint themselves with the work of the legislature and also to have a practical experience of what they have been learning about parliament in school.

Ms Tetteh said as person who came from a humble beginning, it was important to empower the youth in the constituency by exposing them to the workings of parliament.

She said the exposure of the students to the legislature is to build their confidence and aspire to greater heights in life.

Ms Tetteh pledged to continue facilitating visits of schools from the North Dayi constituency to parliament to enhance their education and exposure and also educate them about the various arms of government.

“Since I started funding the schools in my constituency to parliament, the feedback from the schools had been very positive.

Ms Tetteh also announced plans to create awareness about teenage pregnancy, which she said, has become a problem all over Ghana, adding that, measures are being taken to prevent or minimize the rate of teenage pregnancy.
