The Chairman of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Jaman North constituency in the Brong Ahafo Region, Abraham Sah, has disclosed he is working tirelessly to recapture the Constituency’s seat from the ruling New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) Siaka Stevens.

Mr Sah, who was elected last month, believes the unification of the NDC in the constituency will be key for a resounding victory for the party in the 2020 general elections.

Hon. Siaka Stevens first snatched the seat from the then deputy Chieftaincy Minister, Alexander Asum Ahensa with a slim margin in 2012.

Although the seat was described as a ‘traditional NDC seat’, Mr Stevens overwhelmingly won with 14,715 votes to retain his seat in 2016 while the NDC candidate, Frederick Ahenkwah polled 13,216.

But in an interview with XYZ News, Mr Sah noted that the NDC lost the seat in 2012 because the party was not united enough.

He described his election together with the new executives as “sign of re- capturing power in 2020” and added that the crop of executives who were elected indicate that “the good people of Jaman North are ready for election 2020?

To him, the incumbent MP has no chance to win because the NDC faithfuls are poised to take back the seat.

He promised to allow” every individual to display his or her God-given talent” to reorganize the party, stressing that plans were underway to invite persons who lost in the elections as well as former party officials to bring fore their expertise to help unify the party.

“My able team and I are in for nothing but to reclaim the parliamentary seat and make Jaman North the stronghold of NDC again,” he pledged.

He further implored all NDC members in the constituency to support the processes to unite the party for victory in the 2020 polls.
