Dr Lawrence Tetteh is wrong on term

Dr. Glah you're spot on. Dr. Tetteh I think you overlook the fact that in Western Europe, the various institutions that uphold democracy (strong and robust press, independent and strong judiciary, the means of removing an official who has abused his/her office, ombudsman service, impeachment, support for whistle blowers etc.) are strong and functioning very well. It is not the same in Ghana. How do we then get rid of an official/MP etc. who blatantly abuse his or her office? How do we get rid of a government that may be full of kleptocrats who think they are untouchable? Wait for more years while the rot continues? In Western Europe and most cases, such an official will even resign. A few years ago a Minister in Western Europe went to jail for perjury, something that will be unthinkable in Ghana. In Ghana, the person who reports an official will get arrested or even worse. Politics and political connections are now shortcuts to wealth and riches. Dr. Tetteh just look at how Anas' expose is being handled. We are not even sure how it will end. We are having a kind of 'Animal Farm' in Ghana - The pigs are untouchable while the other animals who have no voice sweat blood just for breadcrumbs. We are entitled to free speech which is one of the beauties of democracy and I respect your view but please think this through. A longer term presidency in the prevailing circumstances, is a BIG NO, until the pillars that uphold democracy are strong enough to take the additional weight.
