It will be very difficult for NDC to come to power without Rawlings - Owusu Bempah

Founder and leader of the Glorious Word Power Ministry International, Reverend Isaac Owusu Bempah has said, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) will have a hard time coming into power again without its founder Former President Jerry John Rawlings playing a principal role to that effect.

He said the party’s current woes are resultant of a previous act of theirs; denying and neglecting someone who sacrificed a great deal to get the party to its current standing; Ex-President Jerry John Rawlings without whom all efforts to regain power subsequently will prove futile.

“They are like a car without an engine. Spiritually somebody did a sacrifice and shed blood before NDC became NDC. They have denied that person. You can’t reject the spirit and say you will have life. NDC, it will be very difficult for them to come into power without Rawlings. Without Jerry John Rawlings it will be very difficult. What used to be a part of NDC that would have helped them win election is no longer with them, “he stressed.

This was in response to a prophecy, Head Pastor and Founder of the True Word Fire Prophetic Ministry, Prophet Nigel Gaise declared about the outcome the 2020 elections.

Prophet Nigel is reported to have predicted a win for the NDC during the 2020 elections.

He is recorded saying, "God told me that if the NDC selects any other person [as presidential candidate] other than the former president, they will lose. So they should not try. But if they bring Mahama, the revelation said, they will win. I want to caution this new government that, the Lord has shown me. The Lord has revealed to me more than seven times that 2020 NPP will lose. The Lord told me ex-president Mahama is coming back.”



Reverend Owusu Bempah speaking on Metro Tv’s Good Evening Ghana countered this prophecy and subtly suggested Prophet Nigel was making predictions based on current happenings adding that looking in the spiritual realm there was no way Former President John Mahama was going to be president again.

He said emphatically that, “If we look in the spiritual realm, John Mahama can never be a President. We should not look at the atmosphere to prophecy at this time. God can talk to you ten years ahead of time but if you depend on the current happenings to use as basis for your prophecy, you will make a big mistake.”

Rawlings who had control of his party’s affairs since its inception begun to lose his sovereignty after he openly chastised some of his members for being corrupt and even giving Former President Mahama a share of his criticisms.

The party founder from time to time, addresses key players in his party who he thinks are involved in corrupts activities, a stance most party members were not happy with.

General Secretary of the party, Johnson Kwadwo Asiedu Nketia among other party big wigs have had their issues with the former president whom they believe is being ‘unecessarily hard’ on them and contrarily ‘siding’ with the ‘enemy’, the NPP.

It is unclear the state of the relationship between the party members and their founder but based on the consistent back and forth between party leaders and Mr. Rawlings one is left to wonder.
