General Secretary of the largest opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), Johnson Asiedu Nketia has said, the members of the umbrella family, 'jostling' for the presidential slot for 2020 shows how attractive the party is.

Speaking to Kwame Tutu on Rainbow Radio 87.5Fm, the chief scribe of the NDC asked the host if the other opposition parties are making waves with interested members 'fighting' to represent them as presidential candidates.

According to him, the current atmosphere surrounding the NDC has exposed the lies and deception of some individuals that, the party has collapsed or is on the verge of collapse.

Mr. Nketia was responding to the popping up of posters with the photograph of Alban Bagbin announcing his presidential ambition and his desire to represent the NDC in 2020.

In a barrage of questions Asiedu Nketia quizzed, after the 2016 general elections have you heard anyone coming out to express their interest in representing the PPP, NDP, CPP, or PNC, have heard anyone say so?

He added: ''this in my opinion shows that you cannot become the president of Ghana with these political parties. That is my opinion. This is a very good thing for the party. It gives a strong indication that the NDC is stronger and has not collapsed as speculated by some faceless individuals. This also shows that the current administration is incompetent and Ghanaians have regretted voting for them.''

According to him, it may turn out that the individuals are not not responsible for the posters but people who believe in their capabilities are rooting for them.

He ruled out any indifference from the 'jostling' stressing that, we have not started any competition yet...It is good that people are speculating and it also shows that Ghanaians are highly disappointed in the NPP's government. It is an encouragement for all of us,'' he concluded.
