I'm working hard to win Lower West Akim seat – NDC parliamentary candidate

The National Democratic Congress (NDC) Parliamentary Candidate for Lower West Akim, Shirley Naana Osei Ampem says she has worked so hard that there is no gap between the NPP and NDC at the constituency.

There is a vote difference of about eight thousand (8,000) in favor of the New Patriotic Party against the National Democratic Congress in the last elections.

The incumbent Member of Parliament (MP), Gifty Klenam polled 26,663 representing 57.80%, during the 2012 elections as NDC’s Martin Bruce Opare obtained 18,225 of votes 39.51%.

Shirley Naana Osei Ampem speaking to the media during her campaign launch said she will not stop work until the Electoral Commission declares her winner on December 7.

Obaatanpa as Naana is affectionately called said irrespective of the incumbent MP being an NPP person, the NDC government has done many developmental projects at the constituency including roads and health facilities.

The campaign launch at Asamankese attracted huge crowd as well as big gurus in the NDC party, among them are the General Secretary of NDC, Johnson Asiedu Nketia, National Vice Chairperson, Anita De Soso, National Communications Officer, Solomon Nkansah, Eastern Regional Minister, Mavis Ama Frimpong and many others.

Naana Osei-Ampem thanked the people for their support and assured them of her commitment to developing the area if she wins the polls.

She promised to create job opportunities for the youth if she emerges victorious on December 7.

The General Secretary of National Democratic Congress Johnson Asiedu Nketia said the party will cause a major upset in the home region of the opposition leader Nana Akufo-Addo in the December 7 polls.

Mr. Nketia said the NDC is bent on executing their agenda 50/50 in the region.
