Mr Benjamin Kpodo, Member of Parliament for Ho Central has shrugged off media reports suggesting that the New Patriotic Party (NPP) would make some gains in the constituency in the December 7 polls.

He said the NPP is in for disaster.

He said the National Democratic Congress (NDC) remains solid in the constituency and working to deepen the woes of the NPP with a “humiliating defeat”.

Mr Kpodo, in an interview with the Ghana News Agency, said it is not true that Ho is underdeveloped.

He said the Ho Township is receiving a major facelift with an asphalt overlay and reconstruction of main market, “two major endearing projects”.

He said peri-urban and rural areas making up the constituency are also being given equal attention.

Mr Kpodo dismissed claims that some people are not satisfied with development in the constituency for which reason NDC’s fortunes would dwindle at the polls.

“Our strategy is community engagement, so we are on course to meet our target of 80,000 votes to finish NPP, just wait and see, we will finish them,” Mr Kpodo stated.

Meanwhile, Mr Joseph Homenya, Volta Regional Secretary, NPP, said his Party is ready for NDC.

“The NDC will see real action in December,” he said.

Out of the 87,000 voter population in 2012, Mr Kpodo had 60,129 votes, representing 88.51 per cent with President John Dramani Mahama gaining 62,363 votes, representing 91.83 per cent.

The NPP on the other hand had 5,148 votes for Nana Akufo-Addo, its Presidential Candidate, representing 7.58 per cent and 6,758 for Dr. Archibald Letsa, Parliamentary Candidate for the Party, representing 9.95 per cent.
