Disillusioned polling station executives, ward and branch leaders in the Ablekuma West Constituency of the Greater Accra Region are resigning from their positions following fallouts from the controversial delayed parliamentary primary held at the weekend.

Mrs. Ursula Owusu-Ekuful who is also the incumbent Member of Parliament (MP) for the area cruised to victory beating his closest contender Roni Nicole to pick the slot.

Her victory amidst the controversies seems to have sparked series of resignations with the latest being those at the grassroots.

Constituency Secretary Madam Jocelyn Oteng-Adu who disclosed this on the Ultimate Breakfast Show hosted by Lantam Papanko, is worried over the development indicating that it could affect the party’s readiness ahead of the November 7 Polls.

“It’s not only constituency executives who are resigning but our polling station executives in their numbers. More polling station executives have resigned. We Live in a community where people are connected”, she disclosed.

According to her, the situation if not seriously dealt with, could have a devastating effect on the party’s fortunes but appealed to aggrieved groups to allow cool heads prevail in the interest of the party.

Madam Jocelyn Oteng-Adu reiterated that she was not too pleased with the outcome of the exercise; but said she had no option but campaign ahead of the November polls for Mrs. Ursula Owusu-Ekuful even though she was not her preferred choice.
