New DCE for East Mamprusi takes office

Mr Magnus Jacob Yama Tampuri, President’s nominee for the position of District Chief Executive (DCE) for East Mamprusi District Assembly (EMDA) has been sworn into office.

Mr Tampuri, who is a retired Local Government Inspector, secured 100 per cent of votes of all 49 assembly members present at an extraordinary session of the EMDA at Gambaga on Thursday to confirm his nomination.

Alhaji Mohammed-Muniru Limuna, Northern Regional Minister, who immediately after the voting administered the oaths of office, allegiance and secrecy to Mr Tampuri to swear him into office at Gambaga, urged him to operate an open-door administration.

Alhaji Limuna advised the new DCE to listen to the concerns of all stakeholders in the District in the performance of duties to move the District forward.

He also urged the new DCE to work hard to attract more development partners into the District to propel its development.

He expressed gratitude to Mr Adam Imoro, former DCE of the area for his good works as DCE for the area for the past seven years.

Mr Imoro’s tenure as DCE for EMDA ended on the eve of January 1, 2016, when the President revoked his (Mr Imoro) appointment.

Mr Tampuri thanked assembly members for confirming his nomination as DCE for the area and pledged to work hard to promote the development of the District.
