The ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) has met over concerns to reschedule its November 7 Parliamentary and Presidential primaries.

The National Executive Committee of the NDC is in a fix over the date because its stronghold – the Volta region – will be busy with the celebration of the Hogbetsotso festival on that same day which requires President John Mahama to be there.

The festival is celebrated by the chiefs and people of Anlo.

Although the Committee is yet to come up with a final conclusion, a member Osei Piesie Anto told Radio Ghana, “a decision will be reached soon.”

Card bearing members of the NDC are due to elect parliamentary candidates on November 7 for the 2016 elections.

President Mahama is going unopposed and expected to receive an overwhelming endorsement after a successful vetting a few days ago.
