Pollster Ben Ephson has stated that the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) stands a good chance of winning the vacant Talensi seat in a by-election.

According to him, the party lost the seat in the 2012 elections as a result of some internal wrangling that hit its leadership in the constituency.

The Talensi seat has been declared vacant by the speaker of parliament following the installment of its occupant Robert Nachinab Doameng Mosore as chief of the Tolon traditional area.

The electoral commission is yet to set a date for a by-election to replace him as mandated by law.

Speaking to Morning Starr host Kafui Dey Wednesday, the managing editor of the Dispatch Newspaper said the ruling party will annex the seat with little effort.

“The NDC is most likely to win the seat in a by-election. It was an obvious seat for them in 2012 but for some internal wrangling that hit its executives which allowed Mosore to sail through but anyone who has studied the political dynamics of the constituency will know that it is a safe seat for the NDC if it puts its acts in order,” he said.
