The Speaker of Parliament Edward Doe Adjaho will on Tuesday June 9, 2015, rule on the controversy surrounding the status of the MP for Talensi Robert Mosore now chief of the Talensi traditional area.

The NPP MP is reported to have written to the speaker to inform him of his new status and his desire to oblige the constitution by doing “the right thing”.

However, the speaker told the House Friday that after several days of expectation, he is yet to hear from their colleague.

He served notice he will make a final determination and rule on the matter Tuesday.

He declined a request by the minority to hold with the ruling since he (minority leader) will not be in the chamber on the said day.

Ghana’s constitution bars chiefs from taking part in partisan politics.

The majority has in the recent past pushed for his removal from the House. Their position has been supported by a member of the minority Samuel Atta Akyea who has asked Parliament to stop paying his colleague.
