Dr. Ampaw charges Mahama: Sack Sam George!

President and founder of Legal and Advocacy Forum, Dr. Maurice Ampaw, has called on President John Dramani Mahama to sack Sam George, a member of the NDC Communications Team.

Dr. Ampaw, a constitutional lawyer, was reacting to comments made by Sam George against Dr. Mensa Otabil on Amansan Television’s (ATV’s) Anopa Bosuo morning show in Accra.

In the estimation of Lawyer Ampaw, Sam George has a penchant for insulting “distinguished Ghanaians” who have contributed immensely to the growth of this country.

He said Sam George had no right to “verbally assault Dr. Mensa Otabil in that manner over comments he made about the state of the Ghanaian economy.

“It was disgusting to hear people like Sam George who have not contributed in any way to the development of this country, verbally assault Dr. Mensa Otabil by saying … “that Otabil calls himself a pastor…”

According to the president of Legal and Advocacy Forum, Dr. Mensa Otabil is a well-established person.

“He has converted and saved many souls through his church- ICGC; built a university [Central University] among others.”

According to him, the president appears to be endorsing the politics of insults though he has openly spoken against it.

“What will make Ghanaians to see that President Mahama indeed detest politics of insults is for him to relieve Sam George of his role,” he said.

Asked by the host of the programme that reports indicate that Sam George is gearing up to contest the Ningo Prampram seat, Dr. Ampaw stated that he will openly campaign against him if he [Sam George] decides to contest to become an MP.

He explained that Ghana’s Parliament does not need people like Sam George.

“Indeed, I will see Ghana as a country that is not a serious nation if Sam George is elected as a Member of Parliament,” Dr. Ampaw fumed.
