NDC, NPP should accept Court ruling in good faith – Prophet

Senior Prophet David Ayisi, Founder and Spiritual Head of the Revelation Preachers Church International at Dome Pillar Two in Accra, has appealed to political parties contesting the December 2012 presidential election results to accept the verdict of the Supreme Court.

Prophet Ayisi said accepting the ruling of the court devoid of anarchy by either the National Democratic Congress (NDC) or the New Patriotic Party (NPP) would show the high sense of nationalism and would add to Ghana’s credentials of practicing modern democracy.

Prophet Ayisi made the call in an interview with the Ghana News Agency against the backdrop of the country's 56th Independence anniversary celebration under the theme: “Partnership and Innovation for Building a New and Better Ghana.’”

He said after 56 years of independence it was high time Ghanaians avoided partisan politics and planned towards a common goal of building a peaceful and a prosperous nation.

Prophet Ayisi stated that Ghana, endowed with abundant human and natural resources need not go through economic challenges several years after independence, adding “almost six decades after independence Ghana should have been in a position to provide the basic needs of its people.”

He said for any progress and development to be achieved, it behoved on all Ghanaians to rally behind and support any democratically elected President.

Prophet Ayisi expressed the hope that future presidential and parliamentary elections would continue to entrench the country’s reputation as a stable democracy.
