MP Elect for Bolgatanga East provides Support for construction of School

The newly elected Member of Parliament (MP) for the Bolgatanga East Constituency, Dr Dominic Ayine at the weekend provided 100 bags of cement and 10 trips of sand valued at Gh¢3,200 for the construction of a basic school at the Nyorkuko community near Zuarungu in the Bolgatanga Municipality.

School children in three communities namely Nyorkoku, Kangoo and Sakara are to benefit from the facility. Currently the area lacks a basic school and as a result pupils in the community attend classes in an Evangelical Church and a house built by a community member. Though the MP, who won the seat on the ticket of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has not yet started receiving part of his Common Fund, he is using his personal resources for the construction of the three classroom block, including an office and store room, and would execute the project with labour provided by the community members.

Presenting the items to the Chiefs and Elders of the community, the Campaign Manager of the MP, Mr Joseph Akula, said the school project was just the beginning of fulfilling the promise made by the MP elect during his campaign.

He appealed to the people in the communities to rally behind the MP for him to continue to deliver on his promises and entreated them to work harder when it comes to providing communal labour for the project.

Mr. James Nsoyuri Alolbila, Constituency Secretary of the NDC commended the people for voting massively for the MP and the party’s presidential candidate, Mr John Dramani Mahama.

He said among the MP’s priorities include the provision of school infrastructure, health facilities, roads, dams, and electricity, indicating he was bent on implementing all the programmes captured in his manifesto.

He implored the people to ensure that the current peace in the area prevailed to enable them to benefit from the numerous projects the MP and the government intended to implement in the communities.

The Chiefs and elders, including the youth and women groups from the three communities, thanked the MP elect for his kind gesture and said it would go down in history, particularly for the future generation and appealed to him to endeavour to fulfill the rest of his promises.

The Bolgatanga East Constituency is among the newly created constituencies in the Region.
