Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the New Patriotic Party Vice-Presidential candidate, late Thursday afternoon, arrived to a rousing welcome in the Upper West Regional Capital of Wa as he arrived to begin a seven (7) day tour of the Upper West Region.

The seven (7) day tour of the Upper West Region is the third and final leg of Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia’s Northern Ghana tour after completing intensive tours of the Northern and Upper East Regions.

At several points during the procession, it had to take the police escort several minutes to clear the road for the NPP Vice-Presidential candidate as hundreds of residents gladly joined the procession on foot to accompany the Running Mate to Nana Akufo-Addo to demonstrate the strength of the NPP in the municipality and also the acceptance of the NPPs Presidential ticket ahead of the December General Elections.

Speaking at a spontaneous mini-rally at the end of the procession, Dr. Bawumia thanked the people of the Upper West Region, specifically Wa, for giving him what he described as a gargantuan welcome. He indicated that the welcome was yet another sign of the impending victory of Nana Akufo-Addo and the NPP in the upcoming December General Elections.

On 7th of December, free SHS pledge would start becoming reality. We have a lot of work to do and I am looking forward to interacting fruitfully with you during the seven days that I would spend here.

We would send our message all across and we are going to do everything to ensure that we have Nana Akufo-Addo as President. The Youth are the future and we are going to fight for your future, we are going to fight for your education, jobs and skills and I entreat you to join us in this important task”.
