Poll: Nana Akufo-Addo beats John Mahama

New Patriotic Party presidential nominee Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo is leading
newly ascended President John Dramani Mahama in VibeGhana.com’s first head-to head
2012 presidential election poll (July 24 -31). Fifty-one percent of registered Ghana
voters said that they would vote for Nana Akufo Addo if the presidential election
were held today, while 48 percent said they would vote for President Mahama. One
percent of those surveyed said they would vote for neither Nana Addo nor John
Mahama. Ninety-six percent of registered Ghana voters surveyed by VibeGhana.com
cited the economy as the most important issue in the 2012 presidential election.
Women voters favor Nana Addo by a 1-point margin over President Mahama (51 to 49).
The two time NPP flag-bearer holds a five-point lead over President Mahama (52
percent to 47 percent) on which candidate has better ideas to improve the economy.
