Greater Accra Regional Secretary of United Front Party joins PPP

Mr. Jerry Henry Quansah, Greater Accra Regional Secretary of United Front Party (UFP) on Tuesday announced his defection to the Progressive People’s Party (PPP).

He said his resignation from the UFP was unconditional and provided him with a bigger platform to showcase his creative ideas as well as the vision for the country.

Mr. Quansah said although the UFP had the message of good will for Ghanaians, it lacked the political strength to implement the message.

In an interview with the Ghana News Agency in Accra, he said currently, UFP lacked the political vision and had weak structures, especially at the grassroots, to mobilise the needed support to win an election.

In an answer to why he decided to defect to the PPP, Mr. Quansah explained that being a regional executive member of the party, he tried on countless occasions to push forward progressive changes, but he was frustrated by other executives.

Mr. Quansah said he decided to join the PPP because Dr Papa Kwesi Nduom, Flagbearer of the PPP was the best leader at the moment, who could transform Ghana into an industrial country by creating standard jobs for the people, especially the youth.

He said that Ghanaians were tired of the deception of past political leaders, who had failed to deliver on their promises to provide jobs, good health, good drinking water, schools and better education.

“What we are seeing, hearing and witnessing in Ghana on the part of the National Democratic Congress and the New Patriotic Party is a clear signal that the two parties are not committed to protecting peace in the country for development,” Mr. Quansah said.**
