Two friends inflict wounds on each other

The police are investigating two bosom friends who inflicted cutlass wounds on each other after a misunderstanding broke out between them.

The Western Regional Crime Officer, Mr. James Kofi Abraham, told the GNA in Sekondi on Tuesday that, Kwesi Dwamena and Yaw Wiredu are friends who often met at a drinking bar at Wassa Manso.

On May 12, they met at the same drinking spot and a misunderstanding ensued between them but they were separated.

The police said Wiredu later attacked Dwamena with a cutlass in his house and Dwamena disarmed him by hitting him with a stick.

Wiredu became offended and pounced on Dwamena and bit his lower lip that almost came off.

Mr. Abraham said that Dwamena also retaliated by slashing Wiredu in the face with the same cutlass, leaving a deep cut on his nose and cheek.

The police said both victims were taken to the Effia Nkwanta Regional Hospital where they are on admission.**
