TUC appeals to Ghanaians to register to exercise their franchise

The Ghana Trades Union Congress (TUC) on Monday, appealed to workers and the public who are above 18 years to register to exercise their franchise on December 7.

A statement issued in Accra by Dr Yaw Baah, Acting Secretary General of TUC said: "We would like to remind all workers and the general public that only those who will register in this biometric voter registration exercise will be allowed to vote in the December 7 Elections.

"As citizens of Ghana, it is our collective responsibility to ensure free, fair and peaceful elections. That is why we should all participate in this exercise.

"We urge all workers and the general public to cooperate with the Electoral Commission to conduct the registration exercise successfully."

The exercise began nationwide on Saturday, March 24 and would end on Saturday, May 5.**
