Who is the illegal Entity in CPP

PRESS STATEMENT

I write to bring to attention of the general public and the Media that Mr. Samuel Gordon Etroo is NOT the regional chairman of the CPP in the Western Region. Mr. Etroo was chairman of the CPP some time back but his position was taken of when he failed to organise regional congress for the Western Region branch of the CPP in this year. The Central Committee dissolved the Western Regional Executive due to Mr. Etroo’s inability to organise simple regional congress successfully to elect new executives for the CPP in the Western Region.
It is therefore illegal and unacceptable for Mr. Etroo to continue to hold himself as the Chairman of the Western Region of CPP.
On the issue of the legality of Dr. Nduom’s campaign as he rose, we would like to ask him to prove with CPP’s constitution which article prevents Dr. Nduom from declaring that he is interested in running for president of Ghana.
As a matter of fact, the CPP had slated 30th September for Presidential primaries even before the Delegates conference that was held on 9th and 10th September to elect New Executives. I believe that it is just a matter of convenience of transitional processes that has lead to a postponement which has not been officially communicated now.

I would have taken Mr. Etroo’s comments to be fair if he had also called the declaration by Mr. Geaorge Aggudey and Lawyer Bright Akwetey to contest as also illegal.

I hold that, Mr. Etroo’s Statements are unfortunate and without merit. I wish to encourage him to put aside all his personal prejudices about Dr. Nduom and also start doing things that will promote the CPP in the media and to Ghanaians as a Unified and formidable force to wrestle power from the disappointed regimes of NDC and NPP.
