Tema East Ndc Executives Goofed

IN THEIR ATTEMPTS TO CALL FOR CEASEFIRE

I strongly welcome any fair and decent move to bring decency and civility in the campaigns to the impending parliamentary primaries in Tema East which Eben Anuwa-Amarh (EBEN TEE) is however strongly tipped to win the contest. The call by the Tema East Constituency executives for ceasefire is in principle, timely and strategic. I believe that majority of the delegates and NDC members and sympathizers in the constituency agree and welcome this desired call.
Political civility, decorum and responsibility are pre-requisite for free and fair elections and subsequently a stable society. The effects of political intolerance and irresponsibility serve as recipe for conflicts and political instability. The campaigns to the upcoming parliamentary primaries in Tema East Constituency must be issue-based and devoid of insults that have the leeway to further deepen the already existing divisions and apathy in the constituency.
I equally strongly condemn the open letter written by one alleged faceless Nii Ashitey Adjei to the President about among other things, the alleged sexual misconducts of the Tema Metropolitan Chief Executive, Hon. Kempes Ofosuware.
However, I have some quenchless worries as to how the press conference was carried out and as to whether it was really aimed at bringing fairness and unity in the Tema East Constituency. I say so on the premise that, Hon. Kempes Ofosuware is not the only candidate in the upcoming parliamentary primaries and therefore not the only person to have been affected by the politics of insults and baseless allegations.
Mr. Eben Anuwa-Amarh (Eben Tee) who is strongly tipped as the perfect combination to His Excellency President John Evans Atta Mills to wrestle the Tema East seat from the New Patriotic Party (NPP) is also in the race and has faced very unfair and baseless allegations from the camp of Hon. Kempes Ofosuware.
One Stephen Ashitey Adjei a.k.a Mo-Shake who falsely and deceitfully claims to be the DFP candidate in the 2008 General Elections for Tema East is on daily basis championing the course of Hon. Kempes and have without time and number, on several platforms both print and verbally, made incredible and irresponsible comments about the affable and respected Hon. Eben Tee as far as labeling him a Fonkar man and other baseless remarks.
I was however surprised and also not surprised that the constituency executives felt no reason to also debunk such allegations labeled against Hon. Eben Tee. Why were they silent on all the allegations and untoward remarks made against Hon. Eben Tee? Could that amount to fairness and attempts to bring unity in the party?
Others kept asking as to whether it’s a deliberate attempt well machinated to champion the course of the Municipal Chief Executive, Hon. Kempes Ofosuware. Or is it because those allegations emanated from the camp of Mr. Kempes Ofosuware and so could not be debunked? This hypocritical move by the constituency executive is extremely unfortunate, unfair and bias to say the least.
I believe that you discerning and right thinking readers can make your own good judgments on these latest developments and the subsequent press conference by the constituency executives. I dare the constituency executives especially those who held the press conference to hold another to debunk all those allegations leveled against Hon. Eben Tee as well to give credence to their alleged quest to truly represent fairness and impartiality in the upcoming parliamentary race. I personally think the constituency executives grossly goofed and could have done better than this.
Everyone must have equal playing field and support from the executives in order to achieve the desired unity and momentum needed to wrestle the Tema East seat from the NPP in the 2012 General Elections with Hon. Eben Tee as the Parliamentary Candidate.
Conclusively, I find it very difficult to come to terms and understanding when I think of the commonly known fact in the constituency now and even among a few National Executives of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) that, the Tema Mayor, Hon. Kempes Ofosuware has filed a writ in court against the NDC former TEIN Propaganda Secretary of Cape Coast Polytechnic (Mr. Theophilus Kugblenu) who is a strong and staunch NDC youth activist in Tema East.
Hon. Kempes Ofosuware on the writ is demanding a damage of five billion Cedis (5,000,000,000) for alleged publications he claims the latter made against him on the World Wide Web. The NDC is not known for this and in my candid opinion, a TRUE and REAL NDC member will not do this since this will absolutely and only bring deep and bottomless divisions in the Tema East NDC and also has the penchancy to destroy the unity and fortunes of the party ahead of the 2012 General Elections. But this is where we find ourselves with certain decisions we make.
I therefore appeal to the executives to actually live by their words of bringing unity and fairness in this internal competition and always be honorable in their relations with all the aspirants in other to help build the Tema East NDC and NDC as a whole to grow from strength to strength. We have to all work truthfully and faithfully hand in hand to achieve the aim of wrestling the seat from the NPP in the 2012 General Elections with obviously Hon. Eben Anuwa-Amarh (Eben Tee) as the Parliamentary Candidate for the Tema East NDC. EYE ZU!!! EYE ZA!!!
