Agona East NDC delegates urged to vote for competent candidate

Mankrong-Junction(C/R), Aug. 21, GNA - A leading member of the National Democratic Congress, Alhaji Ibrahim Jabire has exhorted delegates in the Agona East Constituency to vote for Mrs Pokuah Sawyer in the forthcoming Parliamentary primaries.

He said the election of Mrs Sawyer a Real Estate Developer, as the Parliamentary Candidate would help the party recapture the seat from the New Patriotic Party in the 2012 elections. Speaking to the GNA at Mankrong-Junction, Alhaji Jabire who is the Chief Imam for Mankrong-Junction said Mrs Sawyer had financed a number of development projects in the area and hoped that when voted as the MP, She would bring more development to the area.

He cited some of the projects as the provision of dormitories at Agona Kwanyako and Awutu Obrachire Secondary/Technical Schools, the construction of a six classroom block, office, store and a modern toilet facility for the Mankrong-Junction Islamic Junior High School. Alhaji Jabire said the aspiring parliamentary candidate has presented 100 bags of rice and 500 mats to Muslims in the Agona East for their Ramadan fasting period.

He said Mrs Sawyer is also working with the Inspector General of Police to establish a Police Station at Agona Kwanyako, adding that she has already constructed modern Police barracks and office to facilitate the programme.
