The elections, held on Saturday, August 8, 2026, brought together members of the branch to exercise their democratic rights and elect officers to lead the branch for the new term.

Speaking after the elections, the newly elected Chairman, Mr Francis Aweso, expressed his appreciation to members for the confidence reposed in the new leadership. He also acknowledged the contributions of the outgoing executives and called on all members to work together to build a stronger and more united branch.

He said the new administration would focus on membership mobilisation, regular branch activities, including welfare, effective communication, fundraising and greater participation in the NDC UK Chapter at large.

Mr Aweso noted that the success of the new executive team would depend on the active participation and support of all members to make the branch more vibrant and responsive to the needs of its members.

The Manchester Branch remains an integral part of the NDC UK Chapter and has historically played significant roles in mobilising Ghanaian residents in the Greater Manchester area in the activities of the National Democratic Congress.

With the election of the new executive team, members are looking forward to a renewed period of organisation, engagement, unity and growth as the branch prepares for its activities and programmes in the coming months.

The new leadership has pledged to work together with members to make the Manchester Branch stronger, more inclusive and more vibrant.
