60.4% backed me for NPP running mate – Kokofu

Former Chief Executive Officer of the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), Dr Henry Kwabena Kokofu, has disclosed that a survey showed that 60.4% of respondents believed he should have been selected as the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) running mate.

Dr Kokofu, who is also seeking to become the NPP’s Ashanti Regional Chairman, said the findings demonstrate his suitability for the position and reflect the level of support he enjoys within the party.

“I am very worthy of being a running mate. I have a document showing that about 60.4% of respondents agreed that I should have been the NPP’s running mate,” 1957 News quoted him as saying in an interview.

The former EPA boss disclosed while speaking about his political ambitions and his prospects within the NPP.

According to Dr Kokofu, the survey provides evidence that a significant number of party supporters considered him a strong candidate for the running mate position.

His comments come amid renewed discussions within the NPP over potential candidates who could partner Dr Mahamudu Bawumia in the party’s bid to win the next general elections.

Dr Kokofu is currently focused on his bid to lead the NPP in the Ashanti Region, where he is seeking the position of Regional Chairman.

He previously served as Chief Executive Officer of the EPA.
