Minority Leader Alexander Afenyo-Markin has stated that, unlike the National Democratic Congress (NDC), which can easily whip its members into line, the New Patriotic Party finds it very difficult to do so.

According to him, this makes the difference between the two political parties.

The Minority Leader was speaking on Accra-based AsaasePa Radio when he made this observation known.

To him, he’s taken notice of the problems in the NDC, especially in Parliament. However, when the NDC MPs are whipped, everyone comes into line to ensure that they get things done.

However, the same cannot be said about the NPP even in Parliament.

“What makes the NDC different and looks more organised than us is that they are able to come together easily. They are able to get collective easily. You may see them having problems…Even in Parliament, I see them having problems among them in the Majority, but when they are whipped, they all come together as if there is no problem. If it were the NPP, they would let everyone know that there is a problem. They won’t even come into line when they are whipped,” he said.

He continued, “That is our weakness, and so we need to work on these so that the individual talents that we have will have that collective power to have an impact, and that impact is what will bring us to power.”
