The former Finance Minister and Member of Parliament for Karaga, Dr Mohammed Amin Adam, has welcomed the appointment of James Agalga as the Majority Leader in Parliament.

He expressed confidence that James Agalga is well prepared for the role and will perform exceptionally.

In a social media post congratulating the Majority Leader on his appointment, Dr Amin Adam described him as a fine intellect and a formidable debater, qualities he said Parliament would benefit from.

He, however, added that the Minority would hold its line and pursue its responsibilities with vigour by defending Ghana’s democracy and speaking for those who have no voice.

His post read:

“Congratulations to Hon. James Agalga on his selection as Majority Leader of Parliament.

I have known James since his younger days, and I can say without hesitation that he comes to this role well prepared. His years in Parliament and in government have given him a firm grasp of the demands of leadership. He is also a fine intellect and a formidable debater, qualities from which the House will benefit.

For our part, the Minority will hold our line. We will pursue our responsibility with vigour by defending our democracy and speaking for those who have no voice.

Ultimately, I believe the leaders on both sides will engage in greater dialogue and build consensus where it matters, so that our discourse serves the higher interest of our country.”
