Ing Kwame A Prempeh, NPP National Organiser aspirant, has disagreed with the interpretation of a new poll by Mussa Dankwah, suggesting the NDC is making inroads in the Ashanti Region.

Speaking on Joy Prime, as monitored by MyNewsGh, he said while he was not disputing the figures, he believed the analysis behind the data was being pushed in a particular direction.

“I’m not disputing the facts. The data and everything might be right, but how he is translating the data, he is doing it to favour a certain thought,” he added.

According to him, the increase in voter numbers in the Ashanti and Eastern regions should not be treated as a negative development for the NPP because both regions contribute significantly to the national voter population.

He further stated that registered voters in the Ashanti Region increased by about 276,000 between 2020 and 2024, representing around nine per cent growth, while the NDC’s increase in votes stood at 6.6 per cent.

“What it means is that their percentage increase is below the percentage increase of registered voters. The data does not say they are eating into our base,” he added.

According to him, the party’s main challenge was low turnout among supporters and not a shift in loyalty toward the NDC.

“If we do our homework in terms of exciting our base and making the party attractive to our own base, we are going to go over the 70% and go close to 75%,” he concluded.
