Boakye Agyarko Kyerematen has intensified his campaign for the National Chairmanship of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) with a series of high-level consultative meetings with the party’s topmost leadership.
In a move to build consensus and honour the party’s traditions, Agyarko formally informed former President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo of his intention to contest the Chairmanship.
This follows a similar high-profile visit to former President John Agyekum Kufuor.
Continuing his engagement with the party's internal structures, Agyarko also paid a courtesy call on the National Council of Elders, chaired by Hackman Owusu-Agyemang.
During these sessions, Agyarko outlined his core vision, acting as a ‘unifying bridge’ within the NPP.
He emphasised that his chairmanship would focus on delivering a revitalized and formidable party machine to support the Flagbearer, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, in securing victory in the 2028 general elections.

"I am deeply grateful for the warm reception and the nuggets of wisdom shared by these icons of our tradition," Agyarko stated.
"Their encouragement reinforces my commitment to lead the NPP with experience, integrity, and a focus on long-term power."
With the blessing and guidance of these elder statesmen, the Agyarko campaign remains focused on restoring the party’s grassroots strength and ensuring that NPP recaptures power in 2028.
