Special Aide to the President, Joyce Bawah Mogtari, has declared that President John Dramani Mahama’s government will not shy away from the fight against corruption, emphasising a firm stance on integrity in public office.

In a post on her official X page on Monday, May 5, 2025, she stated, “This government will not tiptoe around corruption. We are here to draw a hard line between public trust and private gain.”

Touching on the administration’s commitment just 120 days into office, Mogtari pointed to President Mahama’s move to launch a comprehensive Code of Conduct and Ethics.

"Today, President Mahama takes a bold step forward. He will formally launch the Code of Conduct and Ethics which is a framework that will be binding on all public officeholders, government officials, politically exposed persons and their close associates. Why is this necessary?

"The answer is simple: it is to send a clear and unambiguous message that there is no room for conflicts of interest. That this government will not tiptoe around corruption. That we are here to draw a hard line between public trust and private gain," she added.

President Mahama is unveiling a new Code of Conduct for all government appointees later on May 5, 2025, as part of efforts to strengthen ethical governance and deliver on his administration’s 120-day Social Contract.
