Alan says logistics will to polling station executives

Denu, July 2, GNA - Mr Alan Kyerematen, one of the candidates vying for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) presidential candidate ticket for the 2012 election, has assured polling station executives money and logistics would come to them directly should he become the party's candidate. He was addressing polling agents and supporters of the party at Sogakope, Akatsi, Adidome and Denu at the start of his tour of the Volta region.

"One of the reasons why we lost the 2008 election was because we failed to use the polling station executives and monies meant for them did not get to them," he said "This time every money and paraphernalia would come to you directly," he said.

Mr Kyerematen promised to establish a welfare fund for polling station executives if given the nod at the party congress on August 7. He said for the party to be able to overcome the difficult task of defeating the National Democratic Congress (NDC), it would be important that it stayed united after the August congress.

Mr Kyerematen appealed to the youthful delegates to the congress to choose a youthful leader who would understand and champion their interest. "A new wind is blowing for youthful leaders as in the UK, Russia and the US and Ghana must join the train," he said. 02 July 10
